The proposal introduces a modest single‑storey rear extension measuring 4 m by 5.5 m, designed to remain subservient to the host terrace while improving the quality of the internal living space. Full‑height sliding doors, a skylight, and an open‑plan kitchen–living–dining layout will significantly increase natural light and enhance day‑to‑day use for a growing family. The extension occupies less than the full width of the house, retaining a gap to No. 31, preserving generous rear garden amenity space, and ensuring minimal impact on neighbouring daylight. Constructed in materials that match the existing building, the proposal is modest in scale and consistent with the character of the area, where multiple larger extensions already exist.
